I recently purchased June some summer and early autumn shoes. She is 17 months and her feet measure at about 15 cm. I went with two pairs of Tikki’s in sizes 21 and 22 and two pairs of Easy Peasy’s in sizes 23 and 24.
So far I have no clear favorite. They are both barefoot friendly, just like they promise, and I like them both. I mean, what is there not to like? Eco friendly materials, zero drop, full sole flexibility, hand made, non toxic dyes, beautiful designs.. What I would prefer, however, is a Tikki-Easy-Peasy hybrid. Broad soles but not too broad ( more accurately following the real shape of the human foot ), no extra insoles and sown inwardly with no outside borders.
Nevertheless , what’s always important to remember is that shoes are a mere temporary stand in for the original way we are meant to walk: barefoot. No shoe, no matter how amazing, can equal the freedom of movement, adaptability, shock resistance, flexibility, durability, strength and breathability of the human foot. But since modern day road dangers and the weather don’t always permit us to walk as nature intended, let’s keep our eyes peeled for more barefoot friendly shoe options!
Are there any brands you would recommend? Spam me freely in the comments section below, as I still need to purchase summer shoes for Jade.
